POD: Skating and a Great Day Together!

The days are definitely getting colder! I even wore ski pants on duty this morning, and I hope everyone is remembering to dress warm each day, too.

We started off with our regular morning routine. Our spelling words were 1, 10, 100, and 1000, and our “Show, Not Tell” sentence was “He was respectful at the Remembrance Day ceremony.” Our dictated sentence was a fun tongue twister: “He wishes his glasses could see fishes.” We completed our Heggerty listening games and maze before loading the buses for our big trip to the LBA for skating!

A huge thank-you to all the adults who helped tie skates and fasten helmets — your help made everything run so smoothly and made the morning a wonderful experience for everyone. The students did an amazing job on the ice, and there were smiles all around!

When we returned to school, we had a quick snack and enjoyed some fresh air outside. After recess, our JMH reading mentors joined us for some literacy fun, and we wrapped up the morning with a few minutes of responsible choice before lunch.

After lunch, we had a calm read to self period before heading down to the gym for our full dress rehearsal for tomorrow’s Remembrance Day ceremony. Everyone did a fantastic job remembering their parts, singing proudly, and showing respect.

To end the day, we came back to class for a little bit of free choice before packing up and heading home.

Please make sure to get lots of rest tonight, Cubs — tomorrow we will hold our Remembrance Day ceremony at 11:00 a.m. I know everyone will make Napan proud.
