POD: Working on our Song!

The day started off warm for late October, which made for a nice start to the morning.

We jumped right into our regular classroom routine. Our spelling words were eight, eighteen, twenty-eight, and thirty-eight. Our “Show, Not Tell” sentence was “She was exhausted” — even though we’ve used that one before, it was still a good chance to practice! We worked through our maze and Heggerty listening games before practicing our song once more for the upcoming Halloween Assembly.

In math, we took a deeper look at fractions, exploring halves and quarters. The Grade 3s took things a step further and worked with eighths. Everyone is beginning to see how fractions show equal parts of a whole.

After recess, we enjoyed some quiet read to self time, then headed to PE. We practiced dance movements using counts of four and eight and had a bit of open gym time for basketball and more dancing.

After lunch, we went to music, where we finalized our lineup and practiced our song for the Halloween performance. With Ms. Doucet in Social Studies, we took a closer look at shadows and how they change as the sun moves across the sky.

We wrapped up the day by sorting through our work and organizing it for our binders — which can feel a little overwhelming, but everyone handled it well!

Have a wonderful evening, Cubs, and we’ll see you bright and early in the morning!
